What is CBD? CBD (Cannabidiol) is a cannabis compound derived from industrial hemp that has significant medical benefits, but does not make people feel “stoned”. Recently, research has shown CBD to have analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and anti-anxiety properties. Like yoga, CBD has benefits for your muscles, mind, skin, digestion, skin, and overall well-being. “Plants are medicine, sharing the wisdom of our plant teachers is a deep passion of mine! The ancient Mesoamerican cultures understood and held deeply intimate relationships with the earth and the plants she bares. The Cacao plant, in Shamanic tradition, is used as a power plant to open our heart to experience love and our emotions in an unprecedented depth. I have had some really profound experiences working with Mother Cacao (as my teacher calls it!), and have had the special privilege to share with others as well. The power and beauty of a Cacao Ceremony comes in large part from the intention setting and class connection and the willingness of the seeker to join Mother Cacao in a deep personal journey. We open the space by honoring the directions and ask permission to go on a profound journey. There will be a brief discussion on the background and practice of using Cacao as a heart opener, intention setting, music, singing, and meditation. I source our cacao directly from my teacher, who knows and works with the Ecuadorian farmers who grow our Cacao! Duration depends on number of participants.”

Dig deep into the world of backbending! In this workshop we will work with the balance between strength and surrender in order to safely and mindfully practice backbends. Not only are backbends beautiful, expressive poses, they also open up the spine, shoulders, quads, and chest. We will use detailed alignment, key actions, and drills to explore heart-opening poses like Inverted Staff, Wild Thing, Bow, and more. Whether you want to perform big expressions of the asanas, or dig deep into the fundamentals, this workshop will give you the tools to root yourself deeper into the heart of your practice.
Intro to Kundalini with Emily

Join Emily Gibbs for an Introduction to Kundalini Yoga, the Yoga of Awareness. Kundalini is an ancient yogic practice of energy and philosophy. For many years it was a “hidden” practice and was only passed from teacher to student and not accessible for all.
Kundalini is a combination of Bhakti Yoga, (which is the practice of devotion and chanting/singing), Raja Yoga (the practice of mental control and meditation), and Shakti Yoga, (connecting us with our creative self).
We will practice some introductory Kriyas, meditations, breathing techniques, and Mantra.
“In Kundalini Yoga, a kriya is a series of postures, breath and sound that work toward a specific outcome. Practicing a kriya initiates a sequence of physical and mental changes that affect the body, mind, and spirit simultaneously.”
We will close with some delicious yogi chai tea.
*Please dress comfortably in clothes that you can move freely and “breathe” in.
